15 November 2026Own Your Way
A one-day workshop for young people to discover their strengths, find their voice and explore what’s possible.
Know yourself. Find your voice. Explore what’s possible.
A one-day teen wellbeing and confidence workshop in Oakleigh, Melbourne, for young people aged 13–17 who might be struggling to find their way - at school, with friends, at home or simply within themselves.
Maybe school has become a battle.
They don't want to go. They're disengaged, unmotivated or wondering what the point is.
Maybe friendships have become complicated. They're trying to fit in, worrying about what other people think, struggling to speak up or feeling like they don't quite belong.
Maybe things at home are getting harder. Conversations become arguments. Everyone seems to be talking, but nobody feels heard.
Or perhaps they're simply changing.
They're questioning who they are, what they believe, where they fit and what they want - while everyone around them seems to expect them to know what they're doing next.
And you can see something in them that they can't quite see for themselves yet.
That's where OWN YOUR WAY comes in.
What if they don't need fixing?
What if they need a chance to step out of the noise and get curious about themselves?
OWN YOUR WAY is a one-day, small-group experience designed to help teenagers reconnect with their own strengths, resources, values and possibilities.
It's not about telling them what they should do.
It's not a career-planning day.
And it's not about turning them into a different person.
It's about helping them discover more of what's already there.
Because sometimes a young person can become so focused on what's not working that they lose sight of everything that is.
The things they're naturally good at.
The ways they already solve problems.
The times they've been brave.
The things they care deeply about.
The people and experiences that bring out the best in them.
The qualities that might currently be getting labelled as “too much”, “not enough” or “a problem”.
There can be a lot of gold underneath the struggle.
Sometimes it just needs a little space to be seen.
Why does this matter?
Because how a young person sees themselves can affect what they attempt, what they avoid, what they say yes to, what they believe they can change and how they respond when things don't go their way.
A teenager who thinks:
“I'm just bad at school.”
may stop looking for ways to learn differently.
A teenager who thinks:
“Nobody likes me.”
may stop reaching out.
A teenager who thinks:
“Everyone else knows what they're doing.”
may assume they're already behind.
A teenager who thinks:
“That's just who I am.”
may never discover that they have other choices.
OWN YOUR WAY creates a space to get curious about those assumptions.
Not to tell them they're wrong.
Not to give them positive slogans.
But to ask better questions.
What else could be true?
When does this not happen?
What do you already know how to do?
What matters to you here?
What would you rather have?
What options haven't you considered yet?
And sometimes, simply discovering that there is another way to look at something can change what feels possible.
What happens on the day?
This isn't a day of sitting in a circle being told to “believe in yourself”.
It's practical.
It's interactive.
And there is plenty of room for teenagers to experiment, laugh, move, think, question and discover things for themselves.
We'll explore:
What matters to you?
What do you actually want more of in your life?
What matters when nobody else is telling you what should matter?
What would a life that feels more like yours look like?
What's getting in the way?
We'll look at the stories, assumptions, habits and patterns that can make something feel impossible.
Sometimes the problem isn't the person.
Sometimes it's the way the problem has been framed.
How do you work?
We'll explore different ways people think, communicate, make decisions and approach challenges.
There isn't one “right” way to be.
Understanding your own patterns can give you more choice.
What does your body have to say?
We'll use simple body-awareness and movement-based activities to notice what happens when you imagine different possibilities, situations and choices.
Not because your body always has the answer - but because it's another source of information.
What happens when you look at things differently?
We'll experiment with language, perspective and different ways of seeing a situation.
A small shift in the question can sometimes create a very different set of answers.
Where could you go from here?
Not “What are you going to do with the rest of your life?”
Just:
What's interesting?
What's possible?
What's one thing worth trying?
What does it mean to Own Your Way?
Teenagers don't get to own much of their lives yet.
They often don't get to choose their school.
They don't always choose their timetable.
They don't get to decide all the family rules.
They can't control what their friends think.
And they certainly can't control what other people expect from them.
But they can begin to own their way of moving through the world.
To understand themselves.
To notice what matters.
To recognise their strengths.
To question the stories they've inherited.
To speak up.
To make choices.
To try things.
To change their minds.
To discover that there may be more than one way forward.
Owning your way isn't about doing everything your way.
It's about being able to make conscious choices about how you want to show up - while still being able to listen, learn, adapt and connect with other people.
What will they take away?
The aim isn't for teenagers to leave with their entire future mapped out.
It's something much more useful.
They can leave with:
More self-understanding.
A clearer sense of what matters to them and how they tend to operate.
More confidence.
Not confidence as “I can do anything”, but the confidence that comes from discovering resources, strengths and possibilities for themselves.
More voice.
Greater awareness of how to express what they think, want, need and believe.
More choice.
The ability to notice that a situation may have more possibilities than it first appeared to.
More direction.
Not necessarily a five-year plan - but a clearer sense of what interests them and what they might explore next.
More connection.
With themselves, their own values and the people and things that matter to them.
And what's the bigger purpose?
Because ultimately, this isn't just about getting a teenager through school.
It's about helping them develop the capacity to participate in their own life.
To have a voice.
To know what matters to them.
To recognise when something isn't working.
To ask better questions.
To make choices.
To influence their relationships and their environment.
To stand up for themselves without needing to stand against everyone else.
To have direction without being trapped by a plan.
To be able to change course when they discover something new.
And to build a life that feels like theirs.
Not someone else's version of success.
Not a version designed to keep everyone else happy.
Their way.
